Cookie policy

What is stored in your browser when you use InvoiceDesk, who sets it, and how to say no.

What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep. Local storage is a similar browser feature that keeps data on your device without sending it to a server with every request. InvoiceDesk uses local storage for its tools, and third parties we work with may set cookies for analytics and advertising.

Strictly necessary storage (set by InvoiceDesk)

  • idw: local-storage keys keep your draft documents, saved business profiles, clients and preferences on your device so the tools work. They are never uploaded. You can delete them with the tools’ delete options or by clearing site data.
  • Consent choices (idw:consent, idw:analytics) remember what you chose so we do not ask on every page.

These do not need consent because the features you ask for cannot work without them.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, only with consent)

If enabled, Google Analytics 4 sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to count visits and see which pages help people. They are only set after you allow analytics. Data is aggregated; your invoice content is never sent.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense and partners)

Google and its certified partners may set cookies such as IDE, __gads, __gpi and DSID (on doubleclick.net and google.com domains) to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure performance and prevent fraud. Personalised ads use your visits to this and other sites. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland these cookies are only used for personalised ads after you consent through a Google-certified consent message. Read how Google uses cookies in advertising.

How to control cookies

  • Turn off personalised ads from Google at Google Ads Settings.
  • Opt out of many advertising vendors at aboutads.info (US), youradchoices.ca (Canada) and Your Online Choices (EU/UK).
  • Change your choice in the site’s consent message (EEA/UK), or clear this site’s data in your browser settings to be asked again.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking local storage will stop the tools from saving drafts.
